What’s been happening with Vintage and Flowers

It’s been a few months now and haven’t times changed for us all! I’ve been busy with Vintage and Flowers working on my cutting garden and creating a new Etsy shop for my garden and flower related vintage!

The flower season started well with some beautiful tulips which made me think about next year and which one’s to grow again. Thinking about which to replace with something different and also to increase the size of the tulip flower bed! We put up my polytunnel over the winter too! So that’s been a new challenge for me, working out what and how to grow!

It has also been great for my seeds and bringing on seedlings! Plus it’s nice and warm on a chilly day to be working in there!

The cutting garden continues to bloom, with florists visiting for flower orders and to look at hosting workshops in the future. We are planning our beds and what to grow for next year, sowing biennial seeds is well underway now, with bulb ordering next on the list!

February saw us hosting a photoshoot for a lovely local Silver Jewellery designer – Lolla Mac. It was very exciting and created some beautiful images.  As a result of that, the photographer asked to return for a bridal dress shoot in March, using the outbuildings and house for the location shots, with some French vintage props from my Vintage Franglais shop  https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/VintageFranglai

Flower Bouquets

One of the joys of growing seasonal flowers is creating bouquets for special people. I dont consider myself to be an expert, but putting together flowers and foliage grown by me into a hand tied bouquet is very rewarding.

Vintage Franglais has been busy this year with customer doing more online shopping with the changes in circumstances due to Covid 19. Lots of fab vintage goodies have been winging their way around the country! It will mean a trip to France is being planned as I write to stock up with more lovely French vintage furniture and goodies so keep watching for updates on my travels and new stock!
